dci85 are la baza acelasi bloc motor, chiulasa, supape, arbore, ca si dci65 (mai nou dci70, defapt un dci65 cu intercooler). Difera materialul cuzinetilor si turbina intre cele doua motoare, dar in principiu ambele sunt motoare tip K9K. Dacia nu face chiptuning pt simplul motiv ca motorul trebuie sa reziste acei 150000km sau cat e garantia. Cum am spus mai sus, exista un stress suplimentar in componentele motorului. Plus ca acel motor e facut sa mearga in orice tara, la orice temperaturi, cu minim de emisii, cu minim de consum, deci se face un compromis in care primeaza fiabilitatea, apoi consumul. Prin chiptuning se ia cate ceva din fiecare si se da in plus putere. Dar daca nu exagerezi cu aceal surplus de putere, nu se strica motorul.
